 The importance of life-long learning to a teacher

Recent years, life-long learning has become a heat focus, increasingly attracting more and more people to discuss. The majority are in favour of it, since they think it is a pursuit for knowledge and professional skills. Others are opposed to the kind of learning way. They consider it as a heavy burden of continuous learning in whole life. Personally, life-long learning is so vital, especially for teachers for the following aspects.

First and foremost, it’s fit for the rapid development of the society at present. With the accelerating pace of globalization, teachers should keep up with the progress through life-long learning to meet the requirements of  the changing society. Such as the transform of teaching aids. If teachers are fail to learn to use these, he is bound to unmotivated.  

In addition, teachers are universally recognized as the problem-solvers. Consequently, they need to equipped with numerous knowledge and update teaching skills to enhance themselves, strength their teaching competence as well as cater to students’ aspiration for new needs.  

As the old saying goes: It is never too late to learn. As far as I’m concerned, under no circumstance should teachers abandon to pursue the life-long learning, cause it’s beneficial for them to boost themselves and follow the trends of society now.
